LesP. Leslie Herold (Dr. Les)

Dr. Les founded Solutions for Families in 1993. He pioneered in creating the first skill-based Co-parenting program in the United States. He has trained many other professionals both inside and outside California to set up skill-based Co-parenting programs. Prior to that, Dr. Les was a long-time psychology professor at California State University at San Bernardino. He gave up conducting child-custody evaluations in favor of finding separated and divorced couples see the wisdom of “win-win” solutions. Dr. Les firmly believes that “sometimes if you win, you lose.” Dr. Les has gone through divorce twice, once when two sons were young and with three stepchildren.  He is on very good terms with both of his former wives, and has for years remained actively with members of both wives’ extended families.  Dr. Les often quotes a minister who once said at a nephew’s wedding:  “The trick to a successful relationship is not finding the right person, but BEING the right person.”

Kristy has been teaching classes at Solutions for Families for 23 years.  Kristy says, “My passion is helping families as they transition through the challenges of having two separate homes.” More than anything, she seeks to bring hope to people’s lives in a very difficult time of their lives. She has dual degrees in Psychology and Human Development. When not teaching, Kristy quilts and spends time with a growing family: three adult  sons and seven grandchildren.
